On Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM at Guilford High School, 605 New England Road, Guilford, CT, TEAM Guilford will holds its culminating public event, THE COMMUNITY FORUM.

Data collected from the Community Conversations over the winter and online surveys reveal the top 7 issues of concern to members of the community are:

  • Environment for Youth
    o Youth and Drugs
    o Lack of activities/space
    o Parenting support
  • Schools
    o Facilities
  • Seniors
    o Isolated and uninvolved
  • Town Development
    o Environmental issues/land use
    o Tax Base
    o Planning & Zoning
    o Affordable Housing
  • Service Delivery
    o Lack of services
    o Poor coordination
  • Town Governance
    o Processes for broad citizen participation and voice
    o Improving communication
  • Community Culture
    o New Town Covenant
    o Diversity
    o Rude behavior
    o Denial of issues

The Forum will formulate action groups on these agendas as well as those that people congregate around that day. All members of the community are invited to participate.
