TEAM Guilford is an initiative that will bring citizens throughout Guilford together in a series of conversations to identify the core issues that need to be worked on and then mobilize to take action toward building a better Guilford.

Over the last eight months, TEAM Guilford has held a series of Community Conversations with individuals and organizations in our community. Approximately 250 citizens of all ages and from all facets of the community came together to talk about the core values that are important to us as a community, identify critical issues that the community is facing, and generate ideas for actions to address those needs. A Community Forum will be held on April 27th (go to Community Forum for details) where citizens will take a look at the data and key themes from the Community Conversations, form into action groups around specific areas, and begin to work together to bring about positive change in the community. A Steering Committee made up of a broad-based group of citizens has led the TEAM Guilford effort. To see who's on the Steering Committee, go to Who is Involved.

bullt We’re beginning to see tears in the fabric of our community – apathy and disinterest, lack of civility, people “falling between the cracks”

bullet3 Guilford has wonderful strengths to build on, and

bullet4 There are real problems that need to be addressed;

bullet4 We want Guilford to be an outstanding community to live in and a full-out "10".

What impact will TEAM Guilford have?
line
Now that the Community Forum is over we have:

b a set of core values and healthy community characteristics that are laid out in an updated “Community Covenant”;

b key issues identified by Guilford citizens and action groups ready and willing to work on them;

b the community taking responsibility for sustaining the process;

b people throughout Guilford feeling vested in the community; and

b increased collaboration, coordination, and sharing of resources.
